Partners in Education
It is a privilege to partner with the finest educational facilities in the Tri-State area in an effort to produce health care professionals who reflect the same values and commitment to excellence for which Holiday Health Care is known.
The Heritage Center is regularly used for on-site clinical training for CNAs, QMA's and nurses, and those pursuing careers in social services, health care administration and activities.

We are very pleased to be partnered with the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation in an effort to prepare, educate and encourage high school students in regard to pursuing careers in the health care field.
Beginning with the 2011-12 school year, Holiday Health Care will be working with EVSC and Central High School as they introduce their new Medical Professions Academy. The academy program is open to students who are considering careers in medical-related fields. This will help them determine whether a career in the medical profession is something they want to pursue.
The role of Holiday Health Care is to provide volunteer opportunities, job shadowing, and resident interaction for students exploring the many facets of health care careers.

The Heritage Center and Evansville Day School have been partnered for several years. Third grade teacher, Kathy Siegert, and her class are pen pals for our residents, sending cards and letters throughout the school year. Students visit their residents four times during the school year, getting to know each other, working on crafts or playing games, and sharing refreshments. The residents involved in this special project visit Day School on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving to have lunch with their students and tour the school and their classroom.

This intergenerational project has provided friendship, interaction, understanding and education for both residents and students. We are always sad when the school year ends, but look forward to new friendships in the coming school year!
