Meet Our Therapy Department
Lisa Beyers, Director of Rehabilitation
Lisa has worked in long term care for eighteen years. She has owned and managed therapy contract services and outpatient clinics since 1993. In 1998 she joined forces with Progressive Health Rehabilitation and served as the Vice President of contract services until 2003 when she began consulting as a rehab specialist and licensed health facility administrator. Lisa currently manages our in-house therapy department. “This is the most diverse and talented team of therapists I have ever worked with."
Physical Therapy
Kristy Davidson, P.T.
Kristy became a part of The Heritage Center family her junior year in high school. She later completed her C.N.A. and continued here for 7 years until pursuing a bachelor’s degree from University of Evansville in Physical Therapy and completing her Masters from University of Indianapolis in 1999.
Kristy has worked in a variety of health care settings including home care, hospital acute care, industrial and occupational medicine and long term care. She specializes in a manual therapy technique called myofascial release. Kristy was born and raised on the west side of Evansville where she currently resides with her husband and daughters. In her leisure time she enjoys supporting her daughter’s high school activities which include basketball, softball and track.
Kristy returned to The Heritage Center in 2007 and was impressed to see so many familiar faces from nearly 20 years ago.

Amy Herr, P.T.
Amy graduated from Indiana University in 1996 with a B.S. in physical therapy and in 2003 received a Master of Health Science from University of Indianapolis. She has worked primarily with orthopedics and geriatrics. Amy grew up in Ft. Branch and currently resides in Darmstadt with her husband and two sons. She is an active volunteer at her son’s school and enjoys spending time with her family outdoors and traveling. Amy has been a leader on our team since 2007.

Alyssa Edwards, P.T.A.
Alyssa graduated from University of Indianapolis with an associate degree for physical therapist assistant in 2008. She specializes in geriatric rehab with an emphasis on dementia care. While at The Heritage Center, she has served on the fall prevention team and has a passion for providing ideas to make our facility safer and reduce fall risk for our residents.
Alyssa was born and raised in Evansville, attended Mater Dei High School where she played varsity volleyball. In her leisure time she enjoys boating and playing with her two dogs. She enjoys the tight-knit atmosphere at The Heritage Center and strives to build close relationships with her patients and fellow staff members.

Sherry Kuhn, P.T.A.
Sherry graduated from Madisonville Community College in May of 1998. She worked in outpatient therapy for two years and has ten years of experience in Skilled Nursing Facilities. She has served a couple of years as a rehab department manager. Sherry enjoys spending time with her husband, four sons and three wonderful grandchildren. Her hobbies also include country dancing.

Nicole Hinderliter, PTA
Nicole assists our physical therapists in providing skilled care to improve functional mobility and individual independence to our rehab residents. What she finds most rewarding about her job is "seeing patients not only achieve therapy goals, but also their own personal goals.... when patients exceed their own expectations." She is graduate of the University of Evansville with a Bachelor of Science degree and an Associate Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant. She plans to continue her education and training as a physical therapist.
Occupational Therapy
Renee Gough, OTR
Renee Gough graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in 2004 for Occupational Therapy. Renee chose Occupational Therapy as a career because she wanted to help improve the quality of life for seniors and individuals much like her grandmother and niece who has cerebral palsy. She has training with dementia patients related to fall prevention, behavior management, and creative treatment techniques to improve their quality of life. She has training/ experience with modalities for pain management and stroke rehabilitation. She also has extensive experience with wheelchair positioning to improve comfort, safety, independence with mobility, and decreasing pain. She chose Heritage Center because of its caring and dedicated staff members.
Paula Durbin, O.T.R.
Paula is a graduate of Indiana University; she earned a B.S. in Occupational Therapy in 1992. She has worked in long term care for eighteen years and especially loves the challenge of working with dementia and Alzheimer’s patients. Through this experience she has developed special skills in wheel chair adaptations and positioning, along with restraint reduction.
Paula has a twelve year old son and they enjoy camping, biking and participation in the Evansville Lapidary Society.

Joann Hays C.O.T.A.
Joann graduated from Madisonville Tech and Community College in 1997 and earned certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. She has twelve years experience in long term care and worked as a C.N.A. and rehab tech prior to starting her professional career.
Joann enjoys auto racing and is a big NASCAR and World of Outlaws fan. She loves spending time with her grandchildren.
Greg Ambrose, COTA
Greg Ambrose graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in 2010 with an Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy and a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services.
Greg chose Occupational Therapy because he likes helping others lead a fulfilling and independent lifestyle. He enjoys hiking, water skiing, and boating.

Carla Hynes, O.T.R.
Carla has been an Occupational therapist for twenty five years. She graduated from the University of Florida and for more than half of her career she has worked with geriatric patients. She has had specialized training in orthopedics, pulmonary rehab, spinal cord injury and psychology.
Carla was born and raised in South Florida. She has two daughters and is a nature and animal lover. She spends her free time with her family and their pets which include horses, dogs, cats and rabbits. Understandably Carla has always had a passion for animal assisted therapy.

Speech Therapy
Stephanie Bosecker, M.A., CCC-SLP
Stephanie has been a Speech Language Pathologist for twelve years. She earned her Master’s degree from Indiana State University. She has worked in many healthcare settings but her favorite is long term care. Stephanie feels a real connection to the residents and loves to hear stories about their lives. Stephanie has been trained to work in many areas including cognition, expressive and receptive language, swallowing, apraxia, dysarthria and voice disorders. She is Vital Stim certified in order to therapeutically increase strength and timing of the swallow for decreased risk of aspiration.
Stephanie is originally from this area but when growing up her family moved around the country. She loves spending time with her husband and two daughters. “The Heritage Center is the best place I have ever worked. They put the needs of the resident first. At The Heritage Center it is important that each resident is treated with dignity and respect, and the employees are treated the same way.”
Carla Ellison, M.A., CCC-SLP
Carla has sixteen years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist. She earned her master’s degree from University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 1994. She has twelve years experience working with acute care rehabilitation gaining in depth experience with CVA, brain injury and other neurological disorders.
She has assisted individuals with speech/language deficits; cognitive-linguistic deficits and swallowing difficulties. She is certified in Nuero Muscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES/Vital Stim) for swallowing disorders. Carla’s dedication to her patients is evidenced by her involvement in facilitating a local Aphasia support group that met monthly for ten years.
Carla is married and the mother to two sons and one step-daughter. She enjoys being outdoors and spending time playing with her children.

Administrative Support Staff
Jared Anslinger
Jared Anslinger is a 2008 graduate of the University of Southern Indiana. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from USI in Physical Education with an emphasis in his studies on Business Management. His lifelong hobby of playing soccer included playing four years of varsity soccer at the collegiate level while attending USI, joining his team in the journey into the GLVC Tournament twice. Since graduation Jared has devoted his career to management of wellness programs at the YMCA, and ultimately found his passion for work in the therapy setting at the Heritage Center as the Therapy Liason. Jared has also balanced his work with a strong sense of devotion to his family and love of the outdoors and Colts football.
Jen Scheller
Jen's work as a therapy tech allows her to work with all therapy disciplines (PT, OT, ST) in providing services that help residents achieve their therapy goals. She also assists nursing staff in getting residents ready for their therapy sessions. Jen went back to school to get her GED, CNA certification, and is grateful to God, and the many special women He brought in to her life, with helping her make right decisions and providing opportunities for her to find the right career in life. She plans to continue her education. Her motto: "God has put me right where He wants me... helping others!"
Amanda Short, C.N.A.
Amanda is an essential part of the therapy department team. She has been a C.N.A. for seven years and with our department for almost three years. She started as a therapy tech to learn more about how to help improve her patient’s quality of life and explore other aspects of healthcare. She is now the Administrative Rehab Manager. She ultimately became interested in Occupational therapy and admires the innovation and complexity the field offers. She is currently attending college courses to pursue her career in the field.
